20th Century Studios brings Dan Trachtenberg's (10 Cloverfield Lane) Prey exclusively for Hulu on August 5but where does the movie take place in the bigger picture Predator universe?
Speak with SFX Magazine for their latest issue, Trachtenberg explains that while Prey does indeed take place long before the original Predatorit is not a prequel to the origin story.
"I want to say this specifically because I think there's been some confusion about how people have understood it: in my mind this is not a prequel movie, this is not, "Let's tell the origin of the Predator." This is really something that precedes the original Predator film”, explains Trachtenberg. “And the Predator creature in this one, this is the first time he travels to Earth.”

Trachtenberg recently told ComicBook.com, "I think this guy might be from a different hemisphere of the planet and a bit of a different race. So even his looks are a bit new."
Amber Midthunder ("Legion") shines in Hulu's upcoming Predator movie Prey as a Comanche woman who goes against gender norms and traditions to become a warrior. 300 years ago in the Comanche Nation, Prey is the story of a young warrior named Naru.
Naru grew up in the shadow of some of the most legendary fighters to roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she pursues and eventually confronts turns out to be a highly evolved predator with a sophisticated arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.
