Jak Knight, DeVon in 'Big Mouth', Dies at Age 28

Jak Knight, best known for voicing the character DeVon in the Netflix animated series "Big Mouth", of which he also served as a writer, has died in Los Angeles, his family has announced. He was 28.

Ridder passed away on Thursday evening. No further details are being released by the family at this time. His family asked for privacy when they grieve.

For five seasons, Knight served as a writer for Netflix's very popular raunchy animated series "Big Mouth," where he also voiced DeVon, a high school student who is always in an on-again, off-again,-on-again,-wife-turned-ex-girlfriend-turned-ex-ex-name.

The LA-based writer-actor was also a prolific stand-up comic and producer, most recently co-creating and starring in Peacock's original "Bust Down" series with Chris Redd, Sam Jay and Langston Kerman. Knight played one of four casino workers trapped in Central America, trying to find meaning outside of their hopeless jobs through foolish ideas.

In addition, he recently finished filming Chelsea Peretti's directorial debut 'First Time Female Director', which also stars Peretti, Amy Poehler, Megan Mullally, Megan Stalter, Max Greenfield, Kate Berlant and Benito Skinner.

Knight was also co-executive producer on HBO's "Pause with Sam Jay," a talk show hosted by Emmy-nominated "Saturday Night Live" of the same name that delved into topics such as race, politics, sexuality, celebrities, and more. He has also held standup tours around the world, and his half-hour Netflix special aired in 2018 as part of the "The Comedy Lineup" series, which featured Michelle Buteau, Taylor Tomlinson, and Janelle James.
